El actor Mark Blum, celebre por su participación en las películas “Desperately Seeking Susan” y “Crocodilo Dundee”, falleció a los 69 años a causa del coronavirus.

El deceso fue confirmado por el portal TMZ, donde no han informado más antecedentes al respecto.

Blum ganó notoriedad mundial tras interpretar a Richard Mason en “Crocodilo Dundee” de 1986. Sin embargo, su nombre fue un referencia en el circuito teatral de Nueva York.

También es recordado por su papel en la serie “You”, donde encarnó a “Mr. Mooney”, y por su aparición en el musical “Lost In Yonker”, en Broadway.

El dramaturgo Terrence McNally, la actriz Lucía Bosé (madre de Miguel Bosé) y el célebre chef Floyd Cardoz, también han fallecido a causa del Covid-19.

Hasta la fecha, el coronavirus ha causado más de 20 mil muertes en el mundo. En Chile, se registran 1.306 casos de contagio y 4 fallecimientos relacionados al virus

En total, ya van más de 120 mil personas recuperadas. En el país, el número asciende a 33.

Dear Friends, It is with such deep sorrow that I’m writing to share the news that our friend and former board member Mark Blum has passed away as a result of complications from the coronavirus. Mark was a dedicated Screen Actors Guild and SAG-AFTRA board member serving from 2007-2013, a passionate champion for merger, and a tireless advocate for members. Those of us lucky enough to have known him will treasure our memories of a gifted actor, a master teacher, a loyal friend, and a beautiful human. On a personal note—I always appreciated Mark’s clear perception of complex situations. He always spoke the truth and did a great service in informing members of our community about the ins and outs of the union whenever he had the opportunity. Mark was smart, funny, and a true actor’s actor. He will be deeply missed. Thinking of you all. Please stay home.
