A young backpacker from Santiago who was travelling through the southern region of Los Lagos in Chile, witness the precise moment when the Calbuco volcano began erupting this Wednesday.

The video has gone viral after it was posted in the Facebook page El After, with more than 285,000 views, and rave reviews about his good timing.

The author of the video prefered to keep his identity hidden, telling that he had arrived recently from Australia to visit the Llanquihue Natural Reservation. The shock of the unexpected event forced him to leave all his belongings in the place.

Fortunately he could escape without any injuries, just regretting that all his belongings were lost and possibly buried by ashes.
